Suhyeon’s gift arrived right on time. Saying it had arrived discreetly would have been a stretch, but regardless, the massive box was delivered to the front door at an hour that wouldn’t make Heeju too uncomfortable. Though large, the gift box wasn’t heavy, wrapped elaborately in a ribbon of soft purple. For some reason, Heeju felt that shade of purple was a private signal from Suhyeon, meant for her alone. She stood gazing at the box for a long while, unable to bring herself to open it. An indescribable joy knocked softly against her chest.
