Although the party at the Ernest villa continued late into the night, Jisen returned home relatively early. She was utterly exhausted, collapsing into a chair the moment she entered her room. Susan busily helped her change her clothes and wash her face. “How was your day? Seeing how exhausted you are, you must have had a wonderful time… Goodness, Miss, your feet are terribly swollen!” Jisen’s feet and ankles were severely swollen. Because her legs were so thin, the swelling stood out all the more. Startled, Susan massaged Jisen’s feet and calves. Jisen blinked slowly. Though her feet and legs throbbed, the massage felt wonderfully refreshing.
