Chapter 20
The general public’s perception of guiding peddlers was abysmal, and Seo Won was no exception. Most people saw them as nothing more than whores who used guiding as a front, willing to spread their legs for anyone as long as the price was right. It was a gross misrepresentation of deep guiding, but no one out there cared enough to protect the rights of unregistered guides. If anything, the Association—perpetually suffering from a shortage of guides—encouraged the stigma. That way, fragile guides, battered by the harsh public eye, would flock to them for protection.
